About Me

Following the completion of BSc in Sport & Exercise Science at Cardiff Metropolitan University (UWIC), where I graduated with a 2:1, I returned to Aberaeron with the intent of opening a world class training facility and becoming the go to trainer in this area. My dissertation studied the effects on protein intake on body composition and strength, and I dedicated most of my education focusing on the surrounding topics, such as physiology, biomechanics, nutrition, strength and conditioning and coaching.

I started training clients out of a garage gym and at University whilst studying for my degree. It wasn't until the 1st of June 2015, that I was able to open the new gym at its current location on South Road, in Aberaeron. At the time, the only gym in West Wales which offered 24 hour access to members, as well as housing equipment that you will rarely find anywhere else in Wales.

My philosophy around Diet and Nutrition is based in using methods proven by research, as well as my continually evolving personal experience, to ensure that each client is prescribed a program or plan that will help them achieve their goals. I will never prescribe any quick fixes. I believe that an individually customised diet and a bespoke exercise regime, consistently adhered to will always provide the best results, and should be a part of everyone's lifestyle.

On a personal level, i enjoy playing rugby, and my training deviates to improving rugby performance. However I have experience in many other sports and forms of exercise, including Bodybuilding, Powerlifting, bodyweight training and more, and love nothing more than to experiment with different forms of exercise to continue my learning.

I am also a Type 1 Diabetic, and I dedicate a lot of my time towards improving my understanding in this area, and how diet and exercise can form part of a plan to ensure the condition is well controlled both in Type 1 and Type 2 diabetics.
